Lily Petrova piano

Wigmore Hall, W1U 2BP , [Venue Details]

This concert will be approximately 1 hour in duration, without an interval

Wednesday,
4 Feb 2026
@1.00pm

Leonid Desyatnikov writes music of textual clarity and lyrical irony, and his wonderful piano cycle Songs of Bukovina casts the folk songs of Ukraine in styles that are jazzy, sensitive and searching. Taking on the prelude tradition of Chopin, Skryabin and Debussy, these fierce, sophisticated miniatures range from soulful love songs to gossipy narratives and present a full emotional landscape of tragedy and joy.

Bulgarian pianist Lily Petrova has performed across Europe, winning First Prize at the Grand Prix Virtuoso in Rome. Alongside her solo playing, Lily is an avid chamber and interdisciplinary musician, working regularly with Adrian Brendel, Nathan Braude and the multimedia artist Kathy Hinde.

Promoted by the Royal Academy of Music.
